What is a DISC Profile?
The DISC Profile is a report that identifies individuals’ basic tendencies in their behaviors. Individuals respond to a series of questions that – when analyzed – help them determine how they tend to behave in general situations. These results are placed into four categories. The four basic dimensions or categories of behavior include dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness. The acronym of the four dimensions provide the name of the profile: DISC. Within each of the four dimensions individuals are also able to understand how dominant a particular trait is.
This profile has been in use for over 50 years and has been applied in diverse work situations and organizations to help professionals and other staff members better understand themselves as well as gain a better understanding of how to interact and engage with their peers.
What is the content for this program?
Participants in this program will gain a thorough understanding of the DISC model of human behavior by participating in a series of interactive activities. They will gain an in-depth understanding of their own individual behavioral style and preferences, and will learn to recognize the behavioral style of others. We will discuss each of the four DISC styles mentioned above in great detail.
Additionally, each team will learn to adapt their style to meet the needs of others (both internal and external to the team). The program also provides appropriate strategies for communicating more effectively with other styles, which will reduce conflict, promote appreciation of differences, and enhance individual and team performance.
Before the training seminar, a DISC facilitator will also discuss the goals of the activity and determine the most effective activities for the group.
As part of the training, each participant will receive their personalized DISC Profile at the DISC training session and will create an individual action plan to be implemented after the session.
